Native Sheet Copper White Pine Mine

A bright and bold specimen from the famous White Pine Mine in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This unique formation of Copper formed between shale layers. The host rock prevented the copper from developing vertically, forcing the copper to crystallize in long compressed bands or "sheets". These pieces are highly collectable, as the White Pine Mine has been closed for many years. The dark black shale provides the perfect contrast for the bright orange Copper.

Approx. 10" H x 5.25" W  .2" D
