A large and lovely crystal specimen of purple Amethyst from South Africa. The large size of this specimen is unique for this locale. Crystalline spires of Amethyst abound across this piece, with the classic "cactus quartz" named variety of Amethyst crystals, describing the larger single points surrounded by a secondary growth of smaller amethyst crystals coating the sides. The soft lavender purple color is famous from this location in South Africa which is also sometimes referred to as "Spirit Quartz"
